Simply Planned Homeschool Planner

Simply Planned Homeschool Planner
Every year I think, this will be the year I will be more organized.  Homeschool is no different.  I’m a good, “go with the flow” type of person.  The more I add to my day, the more planning I need.  I still can’t completely embrace the minute-by-minute planner.  Some things do require exact timing, but there are a lot of things that don’t.  A good mix of timed items and priority lists work best for non-planners.  As I work with my young family, I could drive myself completely crazy trying to follow a rigid plan.  But without a target, I’m sure to miss my goals.  My children are worth the discomfort to overcome my planner phobia.

I began my search.  Most planners on the market are generated by “planner people.”  They work well for other planner type people.  I really felt that there wasn’t a planner sold that would work for me.  I found myself ripping out pages of planners.  Pages that just weren’t needed.  I need a planner the works for me, instead of me working for the planner.  Simply Planned Homeschool Planner sprang to life.  As I work through this year of homeschool I add items to it that help keep me more organized.  I am also testing organizational ideas I thought would help.  I am refining the organizer this school year.

  • Each Month at a glance with a dinner plan for each week
  • A Semester Week Plan for each day of the week and three semesters
  • Full color and spiral bound
  • Small and convenient to carry around (Half page book 5.5” x 8.5”)
  • Buying Plans for  each month
  • Christmas gift and Menu plan
  • Individual Education Plan for each child (up to six)
  • Project planners (keep track of your current projects)
  • Curriculum Research organizer
  • Zone Cleaning Planning page
  • Chore lists
  • Daily To Do Lists (You can throw these away when they are complete.)
  • Bible verses on some of the pages

Lots of color! Beauty is another thing that would be wonderful to find in a planner.  Beauty that can carry you though the hard days of homeschool.  I started creating simple artwork that would calm a busy homeschool mom.  I added cheerful beauty on top of calming cool colors.  I want to help homeschool moms stay focused while keeping the peace inside them.

I love this planner because it flexes with me. I like the month at a glance with the side notes. My favorite are the colors, pictures and the scripture tucked in small places for me to find. 🙂 The Individual education plan was a great tool for me to have a big picture look at everything going on with my children. I referred to it to remind myself what my priorities were when yet another “wonderful” opportunity would come along tempting me into being busier than needed. I liked that there were places all over for me to put my lists, projects, to-dos, ideas, books to read. Well done and thank you!

Yeah! Loving my planner! I especially like the Semester 1 and 2 pages and the Educational Plan pages. Just started transferring all my notes to this planner and finding it easy to use. Looking forward to a well-planned school year. 🙂 I can see this being easy for someone not used to planning to use – and personally as a planner type person I am enjoying it, too! Thanks, Sherry!
